YOU CAN DO IT AFRAID.

Has fear ever been a problem for you?

Some of you reading this have a fear of flying, fear of failure, fear of being alone or fear of heights.

Your feelings of fear are real, and they’re okay as long as they don’t stop you. Fear should not hold you back from living your best life and moving into areas that could enrich your life.

Not every fear or worry we experience is valid or even necessary.

One of the many benefits available to Christians is freedom from fear.

In the Bible the phrase “Fear not” can be found as an encouragement for us to continue. It’s easy to avoid making changes or confronting issues in our lives because of fear.

However, you must learn how to face your fears, overcome adversity, and build the life you love.

Building the life, you love is possible, but you must be courageous. Whatever your goal is don’t let fear prevent you.

If you have a job interview you may probably fear the outcome, but don’t let fear make the decision for you. Go for the interview anyway. Guess what? fear will kick in along the way, but you must do it afraid. There is no short cut to success.

Life can be full of difficult circumstances, twists and turns on the way that you’ll have to bravely navigate. Do it courageously. Fear is burned off by courage. Courage allows you to move in the direction of your dreams. Waiting until you feel you are ready for it or procrastinating which is a thief of time will never help you achieve your goals.

So how do you overcome fear?

  1. Identify what you are afraid of.

Fear is the acronym for False Evidence Appearing Real.

Once you feel you have a paralyzing feeling as you are about to take a new step, or you are refraining from acting. Ask yourself the following questions.

What am I afraid of?

Why am I afraid of it?

What is the worst thing that can happen?

Will I have any regrets if i don’t do it?

Giving in to fear alters God’s best plan for your life. Action is the antidote of fear.

According to Elisabeth Elliot “Sometimes fear does not subside, and one must

           Choose to do it afraid.”

  1. Envision the end result.

You can transform your fear into a motivating factor by envisioning the end result. This creates excitement in you that will keep you going.

When you begin to imagine and feel the satisfaction of accomplishing your goal, this will take your focus off doubt and negative consequences going on in your mind. Once you see it no one can talk you out of it.

  1. Move out of your comfort zone.

It’s very easy to embrace the familiar and remain there. But if you want to make a       difference you must step out of your comfort zone.

When you stay in your comfort zone, nothing new happens with the dreams in your heart. This leads to stagnancy.

If you want to overcome fear, break out of your comfort zone. Guess what? It’s going to feel uncomfortable and uneasy.

But remaining where you are is not an option because it hinders growth.

Decide to push beyond your comfort zone and live your life to full capacity.
