WHO IS A LIFE COACH AND WHY YOU NEED ONE?

People work with life coaches for the same reason they use a sport coach or a personal trainer. Life coaches are a diverse group of professionals. Some have professional training while others adopt the title because they feel their gifts qualify them. Neither is wrong or right!

I personally have a life coaching certification.

According to shape magazine “A coach can play any number of roles- mentor, consultant, motivator, but he or she is not a therapist. Coaching deals with the ‘how’. How you can move on from where you are and make changes. It’s action – oriented and concerned with the present and future but not the past.”

What does a life coach do?

A life coach helps you move forward. This they do by helping you in setting goals that will assist you to build the life you really want. They help you through the planning stage to the execution stage.

They engage you in an ongoing dialogue about self-development goals and hold you accountable on what you said you will do.

Coaches provides objective, unbiased feedback to clients. They don’t judge or determine what clients should or should not do but act as a facilitator so that they can figure it out.

They maintain contact and make sure to check in with you throughout the process, to make sure you are progressing and keeping your momentum up.

Life coaches offer curious questions, new perspectives, and challenges that honor your goals and what you need in order to live your best life. You will receive valuable resources and tools, but we are not there to tell you what to do.

Coaching is appropriate for people

1)Who need help defining their vision clearly. Life coaches help you sort through your various options.

2)Who feel stuck and they can’t get ahead. They can’t get over the hurdles between where they are now and where they want to be.

3)Who need help following through with their goals. A life coach will guide you through the process of setting your goals, pace you through the process, identify the obstacles holding you back, and then come up with strategies for overcoming each obstacle.

4)Who need help with prioritizing, helping you find a balance in your busy life. A coach can help you identify your energy drainers and your energy gainers.

5)Who are about to begin new chapters in their life and they need help with the transition.
